In order to enable return of Iraqi nationals to their country, Türkiye started issuing short-term transit visas for Iraqi nationals until Iraqi airspace reopens.

In this context, Iraqi nationals who wish to return to their home country via Türkiye can apply for a transit visa at our Consulate in person after obtaining appointment online.

The applicants are required to present a purchased airline ticket with a final destination in Türkiye (The airline operator should be a Turkish company).

Even though the visa applications will be handled with utmost urgency, applicants are encouraged to apply our Consulate while taking into account that the application assessment process might take a few days.
